C4C 2010 Mission Trip Report

Last June 30 marked the fiftieth anniversary of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) since its independence. That is why the theme for this year was Spirit of Freedom: freedom from the earthly oppressor and freedom from sin. The mission trip began on July 13 and ended on August 18, 2010. Five people from four different states went to the DRC for medical and dental services, teaching, and preaching. One more time, God revealed His will to save His people in DRC.

The mission began with the first weekend at the Uganda-DRC border where the C4C worked last year. We praise God that all the 70 members who were baptized last year are all still keeping their faith. That weekend, we were presented a name of a church member who had been sick, with a lot of pain, and the only hope left was in prayer. We entered a long session of intercession prayer, and on Sabbath she came to church pain-free.

During our first week, we conducted an intensive Bible Workers Training for 40 young people. During this week, these young people prayed to stop the rain instantly, and it happened. They prayed over a demon-possessed person, and she was set free. They were convinced that God had commissioned them.

During that same week, a local medical and dental team was providing free medical and dental services to the three sites where we worked. When the Bible training came to an end, the 40 Bible workers were assigned to the three sites in which we worked simultaneously: one site in Butembo City, another in the Central Prison of that same city, and another one in a big village called Kitsuku.

In Kitsuku, hundreds of people received free medical and dental services, in addition to 9 cases of general surgeries that were done free of charge by our team. At the Central Prison, we fed physically and spiritually all the 300 inmates for two weeks. We distributed reading glasses to 125 people in Rwese and 75 in Lukanga. At the orphanage in Rwese, money, clothes, bed sheets, and food that wwere given were worth over $1,000. Finally, we were able to financially help a brand new church in Kitsuku with $1,700 for the roof. That is where all the newly baptized members are worshiping today.

About a thousand people heard the good news every day. God blessed us with the harvest of 75 souls from the Central Prison and 30 souls from the other two sites. To God be the glory! Our sincere gratitude to each and everyone who sustained us financially and through prayer! We wouldn’t have done it without you. May God bless you tremendously! This summer, we will be working in the Philippines. When you are interested to get involved, please let us know. Please check our website for more photos and videos: www.Christ4Congo.org.
